Trev Richter has spent his life on two wheels. From BMX and Freestyle as a kid, to every type of motorcycle style available. Growing up in Colorado, he has spent his life outdoors. His family spent every weekend camping, traveling, and hiking different parts of the country for weeks at a time.
When he saw the first BMW GS, he figured it would be the best way to combine all of the passions into one. He bought an F800 GS and outfitted it for a 9000 mile, month long trip to Alaska as the first trip on a motorcycle (camping the entire time). Since that first trip he has spent the last 10 years traveling the country, with almost 200,000 miles on an adventure bike (and about half of that in the dirt).
After that first trip, Trev became involved with the motorcycle industry. He had so much fun outfitting his first ADV bike for off road use that he started a small company doing the same thing for others, called “Colorado ADV Moto”. He has worked with all of the aftermarket parts manufacturers, building all types of bikes. He became an off road instructor for one of the biggest training facilities in the United States, coaching and leading tours for ten years. He had the opportunity to meet, help, and train hundreds (if not thousands) of people to learn to ride off road on large adventure bikes.
His love for motorcycles and high speed has never stopped. Trev has raced the NORRA 1000 in Baja, holds 6 world and national land speed records (with a top speed of 215 mph) at the Bonneville Salt Flats, and continues to ride every chance he can. He is still the fastest rider ever on a BMW GS, at 147 mph.
Considering his wholesome appetite for spending time with family, connecting with nature, and his distinct interest in extreme speeds on motorcycles, it’s no surprise Trev has decided to spend his time helping others perfect their off-road skills so they can take these new or refreshed skills to their next adventure with confidence.

An adventure bike instructor since 2016, Josh teaches all skill levels from novice to experienced. He has spent much of his time training at various ADV events, manufacturer training centers, law enforcement training events, and at some of the most well known facilities in the US.
Aside from training, he’s led tours on a variety of Backcountry Discovery Routes, over the Continental Divide, through the Mojave Desert, and down through the Baja Peninsula.
When not training or guiding, Josh is an avid desert racer, competing in a variety of AMA National Hare Hounds in California, Nevada, Idaho and the Mexico desert racing series. He’s also competed in navigation style off-road rally races such as the Baja Rally and Sonora Rally, and holds the #1 Plate as the Legacy Racing Association Dual Sport Expert Champion.
Josh has an affinity for off-road riding and debunking myths that these big ADV bikes are too heavy to handle off-road. After having spent 20+ years as a cruiser rider, he can relate to new riders and their hesitation when making the transition from pavement to adventure riding.
“My goal is not to just make you a better off-road rider… My goal is to make you a better motorcyclist as a whole. The best farkle you can buy for your motorcycle is training.” – Josh Jones
